Differential pressure can be one of the most useful indicators for understanding the condition of filtration, separation, flow-control, and process equipment.

A change in differential pressure across filters, separators, heat exchangers, piping systems, and HVAC systems can indicate restriction, fouling, blockage, or changing operating conditions. If this data is gathered manually or monitored too infrequently, operators may lose valuable time before detecting an abnormal trend.

To provide better visibility across these critical assets, SENSAiO is launching its Wireless Differential Pressure Sensor, designed for real-time differential pressure monitoring in demanding industrial environments.

The sensor takes two simultaneous pressure readings and calculates the pressure difference directly in the field. Because it operates wirelessly and without external power, it can extend cost-effective monitoring to areas where standard wired instrumentation may be difficult or expensive to deploy.

Using long-range LoRaWAN communication, differential pressure data can be transmitted securely over distances of up to 10 km, depending on site conditions. The data can then be accessed through a cloud dashboard, SCADA system, or mobile device, helping operations and maintenance teams track asset behaviour without relying only on manual readings.

This is especially useful for filter monitoring. A gradual increase in differential pressure can indicate filter loading or clogging, while a sudden change may point to an emerging process issue. With clearer visibility of differential pressure values, maintenance teams can better understand when cleaning, servicing, or replacement may be required.

The same principle applies to separators, heat exchangers, piping systems, and HVAC equipment. Differential pressure provides a practical indication of flow restriction, performance variation, or abnormal operating conditions before larger operational issues develop.

The SENSAiO Wireless Differential Pressure Sensor is suitable for high-risk and demanding industrial environments. Certified to ATEX Zone 1 standards, the sensor is housed in a durable, corrosion-resistant enclosure, making it suitable for oil and gas, chemical processing, offshore, mining, hydrogen infrastructure, and other industrial applications.

For site teams, the objective is straightforward: improve visibility without adding unnecessary infrastructure.

By going wireless, operators can reduce cabling, external power requirements, and routine manual inspection rounds. This enables a more scalable approach to field data collection, supports safer access strategies in hazardous or hard-to-reach locations, and helps maintenance teams make decisions based on actual asset condition.

The new Wireless Differential Pressure Sensor expands SENSAiO’s industrial monitoring portfolio and complements the company’s existing pressure, temperature, valve position, vibration, and acoustic monitoring solutions.

With this addition, SENSAiO continues to support industrial operators with practical wireless sensing technology designed for real operating environments, hazardous areas, and critical asset visibility.
